Proof of funds requirement
Every international student must provide valid proof of funds to study in Luxembourg, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Luxembourg government. You’ll need to budget at least €1,805.56 to cover your living and other essential expenses each month.
The ministry accepts the following documents to prove your funds:
- Bank statements, showing that you’ve held the amount for six months or more.
- Documents to prove scholarship or loan.
Required documents for admissions
You’ll need to provide original and copies of the following documents to process admissions into a master’s program at the University of Luxembourg:
- A valid passport or ID card.
- One photograph of you.
- Your Bachelor’s degree certificate, alongside a language certificate that meets the required CEFR level and a copy of the recognition of your Bachelor’s degree issued by the Luxembourg Ministry of Research and Higher Education.

- A letter of motivation, describing why you are interested in the field or course you are applying for, and setting out your career goals.
- Your current CV.
- One recommendation letter.
- A copy of your European health insurance card. You’ll have to pay a fee to obtain this upon arrival in Luxembourg.
